Shaun Crawford (b. 1978) is a graffiti artist, ink-maker and artist from Harlem. He is known for his complex processes, which include dyes mixed from raw materials using his own unique formula, as well as cold water dyes on muslin and canvas. Commonly using complex dyes made from his own formula typing in cartoon caricatures like the Smurfs and Mickey Mouse. Critiquing social and political events, across paper, canvas, and muslin, the artist has an incredibly raw and energetic aesthetic. Crawford has collaborated with Arc’teryx, BAPE, and Engineered Garments, on various creative projects. The artist’s artwork is versatile, jumping off mediums, right into the lives of viewers.
