Centering the majority of her work in Ancestral realms, figures, and universes, Kwame Azure Gomez transports viewers into Afro-futuristic worlds where Gomez speaks to them through collage and mixed mediums.

Gomez is an interdisciplinary painter, multimedia visual artist, and writer who received their Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Myers School of Art at the University of Akron. They are currently working on their Master of Fine Arts at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, set to graduate in 2023. Gomez’s work has been showcased in Los Angeles, West Hollywood, Ohio, amongst many other destinations across the United States.

Common threads of their work include the exploration of blackness, sensation, passion, intensity, and the circularity of time.
