Artist Bio

Eri Wakiyama

Japanese artist Eri Wakiyama was born in Fukuoka, Japan, but moved to America as a child and settled with her family in the California Bay Area. In 2005, Wakiyama moved to New York to pursue a Master of Fine Arts at Parsons The New School of Design.

While exploring the world of fashion, she also developed a unique signature style of drawing and caricatures. The artist’s pieces are full of sketchy and vibrant, fantastical worlds or lone figures in surreal landscapes. The use of color within her work is constantly evolving, a muse that consistently requires her to draw on new creative elements and styles.

Her work has been commissioned by ALYX, Calvin Klein Platinum Label, Estee Lauder, John Masters Organics, Miu Miu, Sephora, and supreme, among many others. Wakiyama currently resides in Chinatown, New York.
