Artist Bio
Diana Yesenia Alvarado
Diana Yesenia Alvarado is a sculptor whose ceramic practice is grounded in process, intuition and material transformation. Her hand-built forms emerge through a tactile relationship with clay, where surface and repetition give shape to memory, identity and change.
Informed by the cultural textures of East and South Los Angeles, Alvarado’s work moves between figuration and abstraction. Her sculptures incorporate distortion, rhythm and animated gesture, shaping a visual language that is both personal and collective. Through her practice, she creates forms that hold presence, intimacy and force.
Her work has been exhibited at Jeffrey Deitch (Los Angeles and New York), the Rubell Museum (Miami), and the Museum of Arts and Design (New York).
