Kalan Strauss (b. 1996, Los Angeles) holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His work uses representational imagery to address contemporary social issues, aiming to evoke introspection and empathy while delving into identity and memory.

He has exhibited at the Institute of Contemporary Art LA (Los Angeles), Charlie James Gallery (Los Angeles), Monaco (St Louis), the Neon and Light Museum (Chicago), and Ken Saunders Gallery (Chicago). Additionally, he has collaborated with clients such as Nike, Bacardi, Uber, and Lollapalooza. Strauss is also the founder of The Latent Space, an artist-run gallery in Chicago, which he started in 2019.
