Delfin Finley creates portraits of people of color, defying artistic depictions often seen in realism. These intimate portraits powerfully challenge dominant art narratives, writing modern-day Black experiences into current visual history.
Finley was born in Los Angeles to fashion designer parents, who encouraged him to be creative. He filled his notebooks with drawings, anchoring his experiences as a young Black boy in America. While completing his Fine Arts degree in Pasadena, he began painting, leading him to stage his first solo show, Some Things Never Change.
Devin Finley is a figurative painter that is passionate about creating works that reflect the realities of the society we live in.
