Bryant Giles was born in Michigan City, Indiana, but relocated to Chicago and has remained there since. His art is a self-portrait that depicts himself and the world around him, sketching from a means to an end. Starting with a blank canvas or page, the artist builds and mutates mediums until he’s comfortable with the outcome. Thematically, cubes are themes used in his work represented as various rooms he’s isolated himself in throughout the years – whether he’s engulfed in his thoughts, comics, cartoons, or art supplies. As his art transcends the confines of these rooms he explores the ultimate game of life and death, with each painting depicting how his subconscious sees the world around him.
